After Deadly Blaze, a New Fire Code Task Force in established in Maine

Following the deadliest city fire in half a decade, a new task force was appointed to look into the current city fire codes and ordinances. Maine’s current Fire Code was last adopted in 2007, based on the 2006 NFPA Uniform Fire Code.

Comprised of a Boston Fire Department deputy chief, city officials and two local landlords, the 11-member task force was announced Friday, November 21 by acting City Manager Sheila Hill-Christian. You can view more of the story here.
